Designed with a 6-head/3-disk configuration and 512E bytes per sector, the 3TB 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5″ Internal Hard Drive (OEM) from Seagate is an internal drive with a 3TB storage capacity and a maximum sustainable data transfer rate of 210 MB/s. 3TB of storage provides the necessary space to store large files, as well as a variety of multimedia content. This hard drive serves a variety of purposes including desktop or all-in-one PCs, home servers, PC-based gaming systems, desktop RAID configurations, direct-attached external storage devices (DAS), and network-attached storage devices (NAS).
The SATA III 6 Gb/s interface allows for native hot swapping and fast data transfers and is also backwards compatible with SATA II 3 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s standards, while the 64MB cache helps to ensure uninterrupted data transfers. With a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, read and write time are improved over the 5400 rpm standard. As reliability and data integrity are a major area of concern, this hard drive is also built with 300,000 load/unload cycles, 1 per 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits (max), up to 2,400 power-on hours, and a yearly workload of 55TB.
All of these characteristics help to provide piece of mind that your data will remain safe and secure. This hard drive is protected by a limited 1-year warranty

Seagate AcuTrac Technology
Seagate AcuTrac Technology enables increases in TPI performance (tracks per inch), resulting in a reliable combination of Enterprise-level capacity, and performance. AcuTrac technology also places a secondary actuator further down the suspension arm, bringing it closer to the head and therefore tightening control. The secondary nano-actuator also enables TPI improvement by directing the head more accurately to individual tracks
Free DiscWizard software enables 3TB drive use on legacy PC BIOS as well as Windows XP-based systems
